ABOUT & SERVICES

Who we are:
Capital Leather was founded in 1987 by Carol "Sue" Simek, one of the few female executives that was left in today's leather industry. Her husband was a second-generation tannery owner and when he suggested that she help him in the tannery's office she had no idea that the knowledge she would acquire coupled with her previous experience as a business owner, would lead her to run a specialty-leather company. After her husband passed in 2004, Sue moved her business out of the tannery and continued to expand Capital Leather's programs.
At the beginning of 2024, Sue decided to sell her company to two of her employees, Eric Jackson and Jessie DeLorenzo, who had been running the business the last few years alongside of Sue.
Eric brought to the table over 30 years' experience in the leather industry, starting when he was just 16 years old. Over the years he has learned how the leather processing works from beginning to end and specializes in sorting leather for various products. He has built lasting relationships with many people in the leather industry including suppliers and processors and has carried on the legacy that Sue and her husband created.
Jessie brought to the table her computer skills and years of experience in various financial departments to handle the financial end of things and create long lasting relationships with current and new customers.
Capital Leather has spent 37 years developing superior products and meeting strict client demands. The company has built its reputation in the production of imported hair sheep, domestic wool sheep, cowhide, and calf-skin, with a primary focus on meeting military specifications.
From tanning, to coloring, to finishing, Capital Leather produces the highest quality leather tailored for both military and commercial programs. From whole hide to cut parts, we can meet any of your product needs.
We plan to carry on the legacy that Sue built for over 30 years and continue the business for many years to come.
